Leo Giraldi

A Little History

I am originally from Peymeinade, which is 15 minutes away from Cannes in the French Riviera. I was a member of the Tennis Club du Vignal in Chateauneuf de Grasse where I met, trained and learned from my all time favorite coach/mentor/guru Guy Lumbroso, a renowned world-class tennis coach.

In the year 2000 I decided to move to Northern California where I earned a 5.0NTRP ranking, playing in many Open tournaments and then began coaching professionally full time.

Training & Experience

I first started working in Tahoe City, CA for Nike Tennis Camps under the supervision of my great friend and local tennis legend Scott Murphy, I then concentrated on coaching junior and adults classes through many Marin County recreation departments including San Anselmo, Ross, Corte Madera, Fairfax, Sausalito and Larkspur. I also worked at the Lagunitas Country Club in Ross, Cañon Tennis Club in Fairfax and San Domenico School in San Anselmo.

I became USPTA certified in 2004 and have been an active member since then. I am PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance) certified and a co-founder in 2013 of the USTA sanctioned Marin County Junior Tennis Team (JTT).

My Passion

I work with children, adults and teens of all levels. I currently teach weekday morning and evening adult programs through Larkspur Recreation Department as their Tennis Manager since 2012. I also run a 5-month pre-season training specifically designed for high school boys.  I am available for private, semi-private or small group lessons. I offer instruction in English or French!

Other Interests

I am a music buff. When you won’t find me on a tennis court, I’ll likely be hanging out at one of the local music venues or record shops. Frank Zappa, Jeff Buckley, Erik Truffaz and John Coltrane are amongst my all time favorites. I am a strict vegan and a proud father of the man of my life, a wonderful young man named André (after my father, hence the “é” as opposed to my all time favorite player Andre Agassi….but it didn’t hurt:).

Jimmi Olmstead

“Life is better on the court!” Jimmi Olmstead is passionate about racquet sports and sharing his  knowledge of the game with others. Whether it’s tennis or pickleball, Jimmi has decades of experience playing racquet sports and the fun always starts with grooving the fundamentals. In tennis this means practicing baseline ground strokes, developing a reliable serve, volleying and simple strategies for winning matches. In Pickleball the same principles apply: drill the essential skills, court positioning and tactics to establish the foundation for a strong, consistent and winning game. If you have a kiddo just starting out, or you are an adult wanting to tune up your strokes, Jimmi meets his students where they are and helps them take their game to the next level. Let’s go!
